Please help me! Termly CA is in 3days’ time! Thanks!:)
It is more about economics than anything else.
The Protestants had better jobs and other monetary advantages over the Catholics. The Catholics would have done the same thing to the Protestants if given a chance.
Instead of fighting over old jobs and a decaying society, they gain much more by working together towards a modern economy. A comparison with neighboring countries shows they have missed opportunities to garner new industry and new jobs to benefit the entire population.
have they signed any resolutions, given money, food, etc. or provided refugee camps?
its for MUN, i’d appreciate the help! thanks!

I need a good ethnic conflict of Europe and where and why the conflict occurred.
Well, you could take something obvious like the Serbs and the Croats duking it out, or try something a little different that will surprise your teacher with your ingenuity.
Gypsies have been despised and mistrusted for centuries. In every country, they are, either by choice or by public sentiment, marginalized, meaning they are not in mainstream society. They rarely hold normal jobs, and often live in subsidized housing, or in gypsy camps.
When I was in Jr. High School and read about the groups that Hitler targeted, I laughed when I read that he also went after gypsies with a vengeance. Why? Because I had the Hollywood notion of gypsies: happy, artistic people riding around in painted wagons, singing and dancing. I couldn’t imagine why Hitler would be against such a colorful group of people. It seemed absurd.
Then I came to Europe. Big reality check! The reason gypsies are disliked is because they simply do not want to join mainstream society. They have been offered this in many countries, and they always refuse. About the only time gypsies really worked was under Communism, and that was because they had to. As you might guess, they did not work very hard.
Here is a story: in Seville Spain, in the late 1960s or early 1970s, the government got tired of all the gypsies sleeping in parks and in people’s doorways, so they built a whole complex of high rise apartments for them. The citizens were glad to have them out of their hair, but were a bit miffed because the gypsy’s now had housing better than many Spaniards!
After only five years, the government had to tear down the whole complex. From the very start, the gypsies proved they couldn’t live in a civilized manner. They brought their animals into the building, dismantled the elevators and sold the material, gutted the electrical system to sell, and generally destroyed everything.
I think this could be a good story because it has centuries of duration, and continues strong to this day.
I now live in the Czech Republic, and a good friend of mine is half gypsy. I can tell you from authority that the gypsy mentality is very different than mainstream culture. They don’t think about tomorrow, and spend every cent they have on showy luxuries. This is not an isolated case. This is not the voice of racism. This is how the vast majority of gypsies are.
